When cows fail to undergo luteolysis following a PG injection as part of a Prosynch programme, it results in elevated concentrations of progesterone at the time of the final GnRH injection. This reduces the probability of ovulation and conception.
Studies completed internationally have reported this rate to be between 10-27% following a single PG injection.
Pro-M8 adds a repeat injection of PGF2α (Ovuprost) which is given on day 8 of the Prosynch protocol, which increases conception rate when compared to a single day 7 PGF2α (Ovuprost) injection.
